In the 1660’s, Milton was able to fulfill his probably greatest work, the epic Paradise Lost, which he finished despite his blindness. It was published in 1667 in a total of ten books and Milton faced instant success with his masterpiece.

Paradise Lost, Milton illustrated two different narrative perspectives. The one of Adam and Eve, having a full relationship without sin, and having passions as well as distinct personalities.  After Adam finds out, Eva has sinned, he declares that he also has to die since she was made from his flesh, which makes Adam a heroic figure. However, the couple is banished from the Garden of Eden and is from then on pictured with a quite distant relationship to God.

Q-1 what is your understanding of human perspective and divine perspective?

Human perspective:


Satan  I has to be appreciated that Satan doesn’t give up easily, even though God casted him “Nine times the Space that measures Day and Night” into “the fiery Gulfe Confounded though immortal”  Essentially, Satan starts to look at alternative ways to best God just as Eve looked for a means to escape God’s wraith later in the story. Satan reveals a sense of human behavior in the sense that he started a fight, then afterwards God gave him a bloody nose and now all Satan wants is revenge. It is very human to want to only see something from a personal perspective until otherwise motivated. Satan certainly does get motivated. In order to best the Creator, Satan takes on mimicking the Creator by assembling a Heaven council in Hell. This in fact further. 

Divine perspective:
The psychological aspect of Satan’s downfall is what I find most appealing about his character in Milton’s “Paradise Lost.” He firmly believes he is meant to rule Heaven, that he is unconditionally God’s equal and even takes on trying to mimic God in certain areas. However, his plotting, scheming, and actions, like raping his daughter Sin, are clearly contradictory to God Himself who is portrayed in “Paradise Lost” as reasonable, calm, and respected. Satan brings Death into the world through Sin and, in doing so, causes famine, violence and pestilence on earth. Satan, however, remains bitter and twisted and conflicted in Hell. Still, humans can’t experience what it means to be human without a little strife and death to give meaning and reason to live.

Q-2 How do your read in the character of Eve as Transgressors and yet Dependable?


The character of Eve is symbolical on several layers of meaning. At first she is a woman created inferior to her male partner. She is physically weak and has nothing to do in the valours of war. However, she is like a flower that is delicate and appeals the looker on. the bestiality and warsome bravery of men is equalized with the presence of the beauty of flower like delicacy of female sex. Yet from another angle it is an answer to the growing desire of women for freedom and equality with men.  The first fall was from paradise to the world of woe an misery but this second fall may even degenerate man and help the forces of evil to subdue man into the chains and nets of devils. This would be the greatest fall which may hurl man into the pangs of hell.

Eve, the mother of mankind is portrayed by Milton as of a typical womanish nature. She is frail, beautiful, clever, yet easy to be seduced. She is the one that wants freedom from her husband only to be seduced by Satan without her will. She deserves all praise for her beauty and she is the beloved wife of Adam. They are quite happy in discharge of their duties. Milton, in delineating the character of Eve,has portrayed the weaknesses of women.

Hello readers.,  Thinking Activity : Hamlet movie screening • Hamlet by William Shakespeare :~ My interpretation about the movie screening of Hamlet is as follows. Before watching the movie Hamlet there was  lot of question about it in my mind that why people are debating too much about this play rather than any other play ?
